Think: Hawaiian Luau, Mexican Fiesta or Little Italy. Go all out with themed party games, decorations and music!

Baby it’s cold outside, so why not stay inside and plan a party?

Here are 4 simple ways to spice up your winter event.

winter party catering services and ideas

  1.  Create a Seasonal Menu

We’re lucky to experience the four seasons here in New England! Take advantage of that by incorporating in-season winter produce and comfort foods into your menu.

Our Fall Feast Menu – highlighting Butternut Squash Bisque and Cider Braised Pork Shoulder – is a crowd-pleaser for late-fall and winter events, and you can’t go wrong with a Soup & Salad Station. Other cold weather favorites include Baked Mac n’ Cheese, Lasagna, Guinness Beef Stew and Pulled Pork.

  1.  Craft a Signature Cocktail

Crafting a signature cocktail is a surefire way to host a memorable party for your guests! Consider a Hot Toddy, Warm Cider or Cranberry Martini, or create your own spin on a classic drink.

  1.  Turn Your Space into a Winter Wonderland

It’s chilly outside, so turn your event space into a cozy Winter Wonderland! Warm up the space with seasonal flowers, wreaths or pinecone “garland.” And treat your guests to a coffee or DIY hot cocoa bar. Candles, string lights and uplighting can also create a cozy vibe.

  1.  Provide a Seasonal Activity

Maybe the weather doesn’t allow for hanging out on the patio, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have some indoor fun! Provide an activity for your guests like DIY gingerbread houses, a wintery photo booth, or old-fashioned board games!

5 Tips for Planning an Unforgettable Office Holiday Party

holiday party catering tips

The holidays are quickly approaching, and your employees are hustling harder than ever to meet their end-of-year deadlines. The payoff? The annual office holiday party, of course! In fact, in one survey, 78% of employees view holiday parties important for corporate culture.

Here are 5 tips to boost the holiday cheer and plan an unforgetable holiday party for your team.

  1.  Start Planning Early (Ahem, Now)

The holidays are the most wonderful time of the year…and also the busiest. That’s why it’s important you start planning early!

Choose a date, and send your team festive Save the Dates so they can get it on their calendars A.S.A.P. We love using Canva to make your own invites, posters, Save the Dates and more!

You’ll also want to settle on a venue, whether you decide to host it “After Hours” at the office or an offsite location. Here are some local New England venues we love working with!

  1.  Choose an Innovative Menu

Now that you have the date set in stone, it’s time to talk food!

That’s where we come in.

Luckily, B & M Catering offers a number of innovative menus – from full-service catering options to appetizers and sides.  Passed hors d'oeuvres – like Tomato Mozzarella Skewers, Coconut Shrimp, and Stuffed Mushrooms – are always a hit.

With that said, be sure to order enough food! It’s much better to have leftovers than leave anyone feeling hungry.

  1.  Pour the Bubbles

If you’d like to provide alcoholic beverages at your staff holiday party, hiring Bar Services can make things much easier for you. We offer Open Bar and Cash Bar options and can provide liquor, beer, wine, and soda/juice. Add a special touch by offering a Signature Cocktail for the evening!

  1.  Make Your Team Feel Special

Make your team feel special by recognizing employees for their achievements and wins the past year. One idea is giving out staff rewards or superlatives i.e. “Marketing MVP” or “Most Likely to Get a Sale” paired with prizes. This is a great way to boost company morale and motivate your staff!

  1.  Consider a Small Takeaway Gift

You may want to gift your employees a small gift as a token of your appreciation for all their hard work this year. It doesn’t have to be extremely costly either. Think: a handwritten thank you note, personalized tote or locally inspired artisan food. (You can’t go wrong with some local gourmet chocolate like Taza Chocolate out of Somerville, MA.)

If gifting isn’t in the budget, consider setting up a “Secret Santa” or “White Elephant” gift exchange among the team.
