Kind words from a happy customer:

family Reunion Baby in a bib

(Baby John Philip D. at Colt State Park Family Reunion - photo permission by his mom)

"We needed a caterer for our family reunion. Most of us hail from Massachusetts, but we chose to have our reunion at Colt State Park in Bristol, Rhode Island for convenience of family coming from out of state. My task, being a part of our family reunion "committee", was to find a caterer in the area of the Park. I went straight to the internet and found rave reviews, one right after another about B&M Catering!
From my first phone call to Brian Doherty (one of the owners) to yesterday, the day of our successful family reunion, my/our experience was FANTASTIC!
The day started out with a couple of us wanting to get to the venue early and when we got there, Liam and Aiden were already set up!!! Liam and Aiden were extremely prepared, oh so friendly and accommodating. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Liam and Aiden. As predicted, my family came to the site slowly and Liam and Aiden didn't sweat it. They prepared the food as needed and the food was delicious, too! Throughout the day, Liam and Aiden were extremely accommodating.
If you want any of your functions to go smoothly and to be guaranteed the food to be delicious....definitely use B & M Catering/Clambakes. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE USING B & M Catering/Clambakes again and again!

A Day in the Life of a Caterer

Our guest blogger, Jamie....

I’ve been called many names over the years, road warrior, grill master, and even lobster boy. Each day brings a different title and new location. Unlike the average cube monkey, a caterer never knows where their office will be when they wake up.

It could be on a beach in Rhode Island, a campground in Connecticut, or a college campus in the middle of Boston. The type of work changes too! I could be steaming lobsters, roasting pigs, or flipping burgers.

Jamie - clambake caterer

My day usually starts at the B&M offices in Pawtucket, RI. Mickey hands me a folder and carefully describes the location and menu for the event. After this meeting I check the truck to make sure I have everything and off I go. It’s always exciting when I hit that open road to begin the day. No matter how difficult the job can be my day is made when someone takes that first bite and tells me how good it tastes.

The satisfaction of preparing a great meal for people is unlike any other feeling. Being a caterer is filled with new and exciting experiences but at the end of the day it’s all about hard work, food, and fun.

B&M Catering's number one goal, always, is to provide excellent food, friendly, competent staff and smiles all around.

This is really an amazing place to cater any special occasion such as a wedding, anniversary, or retirement. When our B&M Catering truck pulls up to the Endicott Estate in Dedham, it feels like we have entered a fairy-tale world of castles and gardens with flowing willow trees, marble fireplaces, lush carpeting and so much more.

The Endicott Estate is located on 15 acres of rolling lawns surrounded by large and venerable old trees - elms, spruce and willows.  The expansive estate boasts 25 rooms, 11 fireplaces, rich paneling and classic oriental carpeting.  It has been historically restored to offer its guests an atmosphere of style and elegance. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It has set itself in a significant role as a venue for year-round recreation, weddings, corporate and private events, art shows, car shows, and more. Just recently, we catered a corporate outing for National Grid here.  Everyone really enjoyed the venue.

The Endicott Estate has an open floor plan that was specifically designed for entertaining. The gorgeous veranda is a perfect addition to add to the ambiance of any special occasion.  The Grand Ballroom is framed by columns and duel balustrades which adds a classical touch to special events. The interior spaces are the perfect setting for traditional plated reception for up to 150 guests. For more guests, the exterior grounds are just perfect for a tented event.

The Endicott Estate website tells us about the history of the estate:

“Built in 1904 by Henry Bradford Endicott, founder of the Endicott-Johnson Shoe Corporation, it was the second home to stand on the grounds. The original Endicott homestead burned to the ground after the local volunteer fire department, responding to three separate fires burning simultaneously, reached the Endicott fire last. Henry Endicott took the burning of the homestead as a divine command to rebuild. And rebuild he did, in a truly grand manner.

The Estate remained in the Endicott family until 1967. After the death of Henry's adopted daughter Katherine, it was willed to the Town of Dedham to be used for "educational, civic and recreational purposes."  "

We have been told that since the Estate is owned by the Town of Dedham, their rates are extremely reasonable.  We have also been told that when you host an event at the Estate, you actually can have access to the entire mansion.   Of course, we are very happy to know that they also offer you the flexibility of selecting the caterer of your choice.  We know that is of importance to our clients who strive to create just the right experience for their event.

The Endicott Estate website lists even more amenities of this venue:

Access to a fully equipped professional kitchen

Event planner to coordinate vendor deliveries

Fireplaces and period furnishings

Tables and chairs provided for up to 150 guests

Hotels conveniently located within 1.5 miles

Ample on-site parking

Central heat and air conditioning

Handicap accessibility

The Endicott Estate is located at 656 East Street in Dedham, MA.
