water fire brown university

As Brown University welcomed parents and family members of current students from across the globe to Providence for its annual Family Weekend, the University co-sponsored the full lighting of WaterFire Providence on Saturday, Oct. 16.

B&M Catering was honored to provide food and service to their celebration.

The Water Fire event

The WaterFire began in the mid-1990s by Brown University graduate Barnaby Evans. Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts residents, as well as international visitors, are blown away by this powerful work of art.  It’s been called a “moving symbol of Providence’s renaissance.

Each WaterFire lighting usually features over 80 sparkling bonfires. Attendees enjoy the wafting scent of wood smoke and the view of the flickering firelight on the city’s arched bridges. There’s usually an opportunity to enjoy enchanting music from around the world, too.

This year, B&M Catering was honored to bring our food and our team to the Brown University celebration. Here’s what the event organizer wrote to us:

I would like to extend my deepest thanks to B&M and your team members for being an exceptional caterer at Saturday’s WaterFire event.

You were endlessly flexible, positive and professional and for that, I am so grateful, as are the rest of my colleagues at Brown.

We received so many compliments on the food and service!

We were worried we would run out of food or not be able to keep up, but your team dispelled all of our concerns by keeping the line moving and the food tables full.

I could not recommend B&M enough for private or corporate events!

I will surely be hiring you again in the future.

Thank you, again!
