Can a Clambake Help Outrun Homelessness?
B&M Catering Supports School on Wheels of Massachusetts in the Outrunning Homelessness 5K Road Race/Family Fun Walk. SOWMA provides customized academic services to children who are impacted by homelessness.
Well, we aren’t saying that clambakes are the answer to everything, but we like to think they can help in some way.
Next month someone will earn a Clambake Dinner for 8 courtesy of B&M Catering Company.
For the 2nd year in a row, B&M is sponsoring the grand prize for the winner of the Outrunning Homelessness 5k Road Race to be held on April 27 at DCR’s Borderland State Park in Easton, MA.
“Outrunning Homelessness” is a fundraising event to support School on Wheels of Massachusetts. The School on Wheels mission is to educate children impacted by homelessness by providing academic support and one-on-one mentoring so children can reach their full potential. This fundraiser will raise money to help School on Wheels provide tutors, backpacks and school advocacy for kids experiencing homelessness.
The winner of last year’s Outrunning Homelessness 5K was Kevin O’Donnell of Canton, MA with a time of 19:47.
Kevin took home a “Fresh Lobster” beach blanket and a gift certificate for his B&M clambake feast.
The 2012 Outrunning Homelessness event had over 370 runners and walkers. The event drew more than twice the number of participants and more than doubled the revenue of the 2011 event to achieve a record total of nearly $21,000.
B&M Catering is proud to help out this worthy cause. We hope to see you there.
