B&M Catering suggests considering The Smith Appleby House Museum for a wedding, rehearsal dinner, or other special event.

Elisha Smith, a farmer originating from Providence, built the Appleby House around the 1690’s, when it was only a one room home with a loft. Nearly forty years later the house doubled in size with the addition of two more rooms. Over the years modifications and additions were made to accommodate the family living there. This home has become a historical venue in Smithfield, Rhode Island. Now named the Appleby House Museum, it is part of the National Register of Historic Places.

The property sits on approximately seven acres of farmland and crisp orchards and is available for weddings, rehearsal dinners, receptions, family outings, or other special events. For indoor events,  there is a maximum of fifty people; this includes wedding receptions. The barn is available for events and is best utilized with an adjoining tent.

For an outdoor event, the facility can accommodate as many as 200 guests! There is plenty of parking and even an area in the front of the museum for buses or limos to park and drop off guests. For a catered event, both the main house and barn have a refrigerator and stove for their use. The caretaker’s house can also be used as a prep area! We will meet with the managers of this venue to discuss your event so it is implemented perfectly.
