Steeped in history

Such was the case when we had the good fortune to cater a wedding at Slater Mill in nearby Pawtucket, RI. Slater Mill is a gorgeously restored water-powered textile mill which produced cotton yarn from 1793 to 1829. It still houses a lot of the original detailing and trinkets. The exposed beam ceilings of the Slater Mill or the rumble of the 16,000-pound water wheel in the Wilkinson Mill will transport you and your guests back in time, adding charm and character to any occasion. It’s this 19th-century charm, along with its modern amenities that creates a beautiful ambiance and warm, vintage feel for any special occasion. The buildings here boast impressive views of the Blackstone River and falls and are suitable for a wedding, rehearsal dinner, reception and photo session.

You can be sure that we certainly appreciate the full kitchen with ample food preparation space. You will certainly appreciate the surrounding wood surfaces for warm acoustics. There is an outdoor patio area and an indoor area that is very charming. The Main Hall at Slater Mill has the capacity to accommodate 130 people and an additional 50 people in an adjacent conference room.  The space is ADA accessible and has three compliant restroom facilities.

Host your wedding event at Slater Mill, a National Historic Landmark and Rhode Island icon, and make it an event to remember. Over two hundred years ago, Samuel Slater began manufacturing textiles at his wooden mill on the banks of the Blackstone River. His “curious experiment” in mechanization changed forever the way Americans work and live. You can make your own history here, as well, at this 5.5-acre museum complex.
