As 2021 kicks off, we enter knowing that many brides (and grooms!) are preparing for weddings that may have seen a delay due to the events of 2020.
So what better way to keep our eyes turned to brighter days and prepare those looking to tie the knot in 2021 than with a few helpful tips on planning (or re-planning!) an extra special bridal shower!
What's the Budget? Before diving into the exciting elements of bridal shower planning, you'll want to determine your budget. The budget will determine the menu selections, the theme, the number of individuals invited, and the location (to name a few). You'll want to plan a comfortable budget that can meet your event's needs without breaking the bank.
Set the Date and Location. With all the "hiccups" that 2020 brought in terms of rescheduled weddings, showers, and events, it is wise not to delay this particular point. You want to schedule approximately six months prior to the big day! Determining a date is a priority so that you may reach out to locations that can accommodate the type of shower you are looking to hold.
If you plan to host it in a home or a backyard, then event space may not be an issue. B&M Catering are specialists at backyard and other otudoor venue catering.
Guest List and Invitations. With things looking a bit different these days, the size of your invite list is something entirely up to you and your bride. The average guest list would consist of 30-50 people, but with 2020 still fresh on the heels of 2021, more intimate size groups can supply just as a celebratory feel.
You can always video conference in some guests that would normally have traveled in for the shower. As for your invitations, you'll want to finalize, purchase, and mail out the bridal shower invitations about six to eight weeks prior to the event. This gives guests plenty of time to clear their schedules, buy a gift, and RSVP.
Confirm Your Catering. Your menu should complement the theme, and your bride's personal favorites. For example, if the shower has a theme like "rustic country," be sure to tell your caterer so that they may make some delicious theme related suggestions! There is also a wealth of options that fit nearly all budgets.
Things like Crudités, cheese plates, fresh fruit, salads, and pasta dishes are popular choices.
Don't forget to satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth with a variety of cupcakes, cookies, and brownies.
Lastly, to help wash down all the deliciousness, be sure to supply non-alcoholic beverages. Perhaps add-on a mimosa or sangria bar as a super fun way to celebrate the bride's big day!
