Sesame Noodles with Beef 300 PX Wide_0.JPG

O.K., maybe this should be called BEEF with a few noodles.  Our intent was to share a nice Sesame Noodle recipe, but we got such a good deal on London Broil that we got carried away and the noodles were kind of lost in the shuffle.

It's a really fun dish and it serves well with fish, chicken, pork or garden fresh vegetables. It's easy to make and really inexpensive.

 Brian and Mick

1 lb wheat angel hair pasta/ 1 cup sesame oil/ 1/2 cup soy sauce/ 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar/ 1/4 cup white sugar/ 1 tablespoon hot chili oil/ 1 1/2 teaspoons sesame seeds/ 1 bunch broccoli/ 1 red pepper/ 1 summer squash/ 2-3 scallion stalks/ 1 lb (or more) of london broil.

1. Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a boil over high heat.  Once the water is boiling, stir in angel hair, and return to a boil.  Cook uncovered, stirring
occasionally, until pasta is firm.(4-5 min.) Drain and set aside.

2. Grill (or broil) london broil to preferred temp, slice and set aside.
3. Chop broccoli into florets, slice peppers & squash and dice scallions. Saute in 1/4 cup of sesame oil and toss with angel hair.
4. Whisk together the remaining sesame oil, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, chili oil, and sugar in a large bowl. Toss the pasta and veggies in the dressing then sprinkle with sesame seeds and layer the london broil on top.

A Visit to Linden Place

         Linden House

                     linden Place, Bristol, RI

We had a wonderful visit with Susan and some of the folks at Linden Place in Bristol, RI, while doing a walk-through for an upcoming wedding.  You can tell they've been kept quite busy over the winter with projects and the mansion and grounds have never looked prettier.  And the fact that there is no sign of snow and the magnolias are in bloom only makes it that much more beautiful.

A perfect setting for a wedding, rehearsal or really any social occasion, the staff has also put together an events schedule that includes something for everyone.  From the "It might as well be Spring" concert, and the opening of the visitors season with Family Day with the History Kids, the events keep coming.

Results of the Baby Buffet Photo Contest

Thanks to all of the people who played along with our contest on Facebook.  We were just looking to have a little fun, and although most pictures were posted by mothers, we sense that it was an assemblage of adoring aunts that fueled the photo frenzy. For their zeal, we are grateful.

All of the babies are beautiful and thanks for sharing them with us.  Without further ado, we would like to present the top vote getters.

1st Place with  150 votes goes to Caleb, A.K.A. Mr. Tubby Time. For his time spent both in the tub and on diplay for all to see, he will receive the Baby Buffet of his mother's choosing.  (Please see the Baby Buffets tab at the top of this page.)

2nd Place with  112 votes goes to Adam, the best dressed kid and fashion plate of the diaper set. For his time and effort, and because he looks like he's all about the party, Adam will receive a B&M Party Sampler. (Also found in the Baby Buffets)

3rd Place goes to Smiling Riley. Though he waded into the contest a bit late, he made a big splash with the public, garnering 91 votes. Since he wrapped up 3rd place, he will be presented a Fresh Lobster Beach Blanket to keep him as comfortable as he appears in his picture.

And for being such good sports, (and in a tie for 4th place) babies Sophia and Jake will receive Fresh Lobster Baby Bibs.
