Pass the Gravy, Not the Stress: Friendsgiving Catering Made Easy

Who says the host has to be the one hiding in the kitchen? Every November, somebody raises a hand to host Friendsgiving, and by the time the guests arrive, that same somebody is too frazzled to enjoy a single bite. Holiday entertaining should be about the people around the table, not the pans in the sink. For 40 years, B&M Catering Co. has been feeding hungry crowds across Rhode Island, South Coast Massachusetts, and Eastern Connecticut, and we've learned a thing or two about taking the pressure off the person in charge. This year, let's make sure the host actually gets a seat.

Why Does Holiday Entertaining Feel So Overwhelming?

Think about everything that goes into a big holiday meal. There's the menu to plan, the headcount to chase down, and the grocery list that somehow grows every time you look at it. Then comes the store: crowded aisles, empty shelves where the cranberry sauce should be, and a line snaking back to the dairy case. And that's before anyone has peeled a single potato.

The cooking is its own marathon. A turkey needs hours in the oven, the sides all want the stovetop at the same time, and dessert has to fit in somewhere between basting and mashing. By the time everyone sits down, the cook is running on fumes. It doesn't have to go that way.

Skip the Shopping and the Hours of Meal Prep

When you let a caterer handle the food, the whole to-do list shrinks. No grocery runs, no midnight pie crusts, no juggling oven space. Our culinary team prepares everything in our Pawtucket kitchen, so all you have to do is decide what sounds good and how many people are coming.

For a lot of Friendsgiving hosts, pick-up and delivery catering is the sweet spot. You can grab your order hot or cold at our kitchen, or have our team bring it to your door and set up the buffet on the table of your choice, complete with serving utensils, paper goods, and condiments. Everything comes in its own foil pan and can be reheated whenever you're ready. You set the table and light the candles. We take care of the rest.

Catering Makes Feeding a Crowd Simple

Friendsgiving crowds come in all shapes and sizes. Maybe it's eight coworkers in a city apartment, or thirty old friends in a farmhouse near the water. Either way, catering scales with you. Tell us your headcount, and we'll make sure there's enough food for everyone, plus a little extra for the friend who always shows up with a plus-one.

If you'd rather not lift a finger at all, delivery with service goes a step further. Our team sets up the buffet, serves your guests for the length of the party, and cleans up afterward, taking the trash with us. We'll even package the leftovers, which means turkey sandwiches for days without the dish duty.

Appetizers, Entrées, Sides, and Desserts

A great Friendsgiving spread covers every course, and ours is built for exactly that. Start the evening with shrimp cocktail, scallops wrapped in bacon, or stuffed mushroom caps filled with cornbread and sausage stuffing. Our Fall Phyllo Cups, with apple chutney, crumbled blue cheese, and caramelized onions, tend to vanish first. Warm everyone up with Portuguese kale soup or butternut squash bisque, then move on to the main event: freshly roasted turkey breast with gravy and cranberry sauce.

From there, you choose the sides. Mashed, red roasted, or sweet potatoes. Candied baby carrots, Brussels sprouts, or green beans. Herb stuffing or cornbread stuffing. Our sweet and salty mac n' cheese add-on tends to steal the show. Round it all out with dessert, and nobody has to bake a single pie.

Finally, the Host Gets to Sit Down

Here's the best part of catering Friendsgiving: you get to be a guest at your own party. Instead of hovering over the stove, you're passing the gravy, telling stories, and going back for seconds like everyone else. Isn't that the whole point?

Friendsgiving dates fill up fast, so plan early. Just call us at 401.723.4180 to talk with a catering coordinator, customize your menu, and get a quote. This year, pass the gravy, not the stress.
