‘Tis the Season – for Engagements

banner- engagement - wedding catering

December is a popular time of the year for wedding engagements. It makes sense that someone would want to give the “ultimate” gift during the winter holidays.

Pop the question in style December is the busiest month for popping the question.   We have heard more folks than ever tell us that they became engaged in December. We even saw an article in WeddingWire that states that 33% of engagements take place between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve. When we asked some of our clients why they chose to become engaged this time of year, they had a number of different answers. Some have told us that it’s a beautiful time of the year here in New England.   The clear blue skies and cool, crisp air seem to make the moment that much more memorable when the proposal occurs outdoors. Others told us that they knew they would be spending lots of time with family and friends over the winter holidays, and thought it would be a nice occasion to share with them.

The Ultimate Gift – December Engagements

Jewelers tell us that they see almost a 50% increase in people purchasing engagement rings in November and early December. You absolutely can not ignore the deluge of diamond ads or all the eye-catching diamond displays in the retail stores. The Washington Post phrased this perfectly: “If a guy’s gonna pop the question eventually, he might as well use the opportunity to avoid shopping for a holiday gift and kill two birds with “” ahem “” one stone.”?   But, we suppose that it makes sense that someone would want to give the “ultimate” gift during the winter holidays.

You can pretty much count on the sharp gasp and joyful cries from the intended, as well as surrounding family and friends.

Wedding planning solved!

Then comes the fun stuff – all of the wedding planning.   Fortunately, we have been in business long enough to have the answer to every couple’s questions when it comes to deciding on a wedding menu. Our event planners are on hand to figure out a menu for every couple’s food preferences and budget. Many folks enjoy the casual choices, such as the Narragansett Beach Blast or the Consummate Beantown Clambake

Maybe you’re looking for something delicious, fun, & unique. Check out our Chicken and Pig Buffet . This meal is perfect for a wedding, rehearsal dinner, or bridal shower.

One of our favorite and unique wedding themes is the Medieval Banquet.  This theme has not been overused, as many of the wedding themes have, and folks get a real kick out of the idea.

Others may prefer something more formal such as BBQ Steak Tips and Salmon.

We spend a good amount of our summers traveling all across New England to bring great food and service to weddings of every single kind you can possibly think of. As outdoor cooking specialists, we are often called upon to cater a wide variety of beach and backyard weddings and engagement parties. Often there is a fun theme to go along with the backyard wedding – country, rustic, shabby-chic.

Venues and locations – December Engagements

Beach weddings, of course, are some of our absolute favorite events. Other than the fact that everyone always has more of an appetite when they’re at the beach, we never get tired of watching the sky turn colors as the the sun sets, and the wedding guests settle in for a magical evening celebration. Beach weddings are a perfect setting for an old-fashioned New England Clambake. Check out some of our favorite New England Beach and Other Wedding Catering Venues.

What are people saying about our wedding catering?

Here’s what Courtney has to say about her experience:

“My husband and I hired B&M Catering for our wedding reception and oh… my… goodness. We indulged in the chicken and pig buffet and it was some of the best BBQ we have had. We received rave reviews all day from our guests who could get enough of the most moist cornbread and ooie gooie mac and cheese. To top it off, the catering staff were so friendly and professional”?

“B&M Catered our backyard wedding and it was amazing! Food and service was fantastic, even guests kept telling me afterwards how great the food was! We did a custom menu of  BBQ Steak Tips and Salmon  which worked out perfectly. They even accommodated separate plates for allergies and vegans. Day-of service was also spot-on. Everything was on-time, delicious, and went so smoothly”
